Since 2008, Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) is high on the development agenda of Mauritius. Amid a global energy crisis in 2007 and 2008, the Republic of Mauritius developed a national Programme on SCP, with the support of UNEP in the context of the Marrakech Process.

UNEP and UNITAR are partnering within the framework of the SWITCH-Asia Programme to launch the first SCP e-learning course. It will run from September to October 2014 and will aim to provide policy makers and other relevant stakeholders with an introduction to the SCP concept and its application in Asia.

The first meeting of the 10YFP Stakeholders Focal Points (SFP) was held on 20 June 2014, in Nairobi, Kenya, aiming to provide an overview of the 10YFP, offer a dialogue on the role of stakeholders focal points in supporting the implementation of the 10YFP at the regional and national levels and to identify areas of collaboration among majors groups and other 10YFP partners.
