Africa is vulnerable to climate change. Variations in rainfall patterns have led to increasing drought and flooding conditions often with disastrous consequences for both people and the environment. Air quality is also an emerging issue of concern in many parts of Africa, especially in expanding urban areas where concentrations of industry and vehicles are increasing air pollution.
