Naomi Poulton: Officer-in-Charge of the Division of Communications & Public Information (DCPI)

Ms. Naomi Poulton is officer-in-charge of the Division of Communications and Public Information (DCPI) based at UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi. Prior to her appointment, Ms. Poulton served as Head of the UNEP Publications Unit (since 1998) where her main responsibilities included: writing & editing ;running the Publishing Board; coordinating Our Planet magazine; compiling UNEP's publications catalogue; advising UNEP divisions on matters pertaining to publishing; and supervising the graphics/layout unit.

Prior to joining UNEP, Ms. Poulton worked as a freelance writer and editor for publishers and NGOs in the UK and in Kenya. This included magazines such as: South, Flight International, Executive, and Sparkle.

Ms. Poulton holds a BA Honours degree in Politics from Durham University in the UK and a Diploma in Herbal Medicine from the Australasian College in Portland, USA.
