INTRODUCTION

The fourteenth session of the Governing Council of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) was held at UNEP headquarters, Nairobi, from 8 to 19 June, 1987. The Council adopted the present report at the 16th meeting of the session, on 19 June, 1987.
