Chancellor Schroeder visits UNEP
At the UN he met with Klaus Toepfer, the Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme, where he discussed issues ranging from climate change to post conflict assessment branch. He was given a gift of an African elephant by internationally-renowned Kenyan artist Kioko Mwitiki.
Mr Schroeder also planted an indigenous flame tree in the grounds close to ones planted on a previous visit by Kofi Annan, the UN Secretary-General, and his wife Nane.
