The Global Outlook for Ice and Snow
The Global Outlook for Ice and Snow, involving UNEP and a network of some 70 of the world's best experts, has been compiled in part to support the International Polar Year running from 2007 to 2008. The assessment report captures the state of knowledge on polar ice and snow at the outset of this ambitious two year campaign of international research. The report was officially launched on 4 June 2007.

Global Deserts Outlook
The Global Deserts Outlook is the first thematic assessment report in the Global Environment Outlook (GEO) series of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). A UNEP contribution to the International Year of Deserts and Desertification in 2006, the report aims to help raise global public awareness of the state of the world's deserts.
