1st Regional Working Group Meeting on drafting the ICZM Protocol
to the Nairobi Convention

Information for participants

1. Introduction
This meeting was organised by the Regional Programme for the Sustainable Management of the Coastal Zones of the Indian Ocean Countries of the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) and the Nairobi Convention Secretariat.

2. Travel
Economy class travel was arranged for sponsored participants.

3. Accommodation
Accommodation for all participants was arranged at La Plantation Hotel, Balaclava. A single room on bed and breakfast basis at a rate of 100 Euro was booked for each participant. For participants who are fully sponsored by ReCoMaP, full payment of the room on Bed and Breakfast basis from the date of arrival to the date of departure was effected.

4. Meeting venue
The meeting was held in the Niaouli room which is found on the same level of the lobby of La Plantation Hotel.

5. DSA
ReCoMaP paid DSA of 55 Euro/day during the stay in Mauritius which covered the cost of lunch and dinner during the non meeting days and other charges. The Nairobi convention paid DSA to participants from Mozambique and France which covered all expenses including accommodation and meals during your stay in Mauritius.

6. Boarding Pass
Due to very strict E.C administrative and financial procedures it was compulsory to send back boarding passes to ReCoMaP after returning to the countries of origin. Boarding passes from countries of origin to Mauritius were collected on the 1st day of the meeting when receiving the DSA. The Nairobi Convention sponsored participants were requested to bring a copy of their passport and ticket to facilitate payment of DSA.

7. Airport Transfers
Shuttle arrangements were made from/to the airport free of charge by ReCoMaP.

8. Break
Morning and afternoon tea breaks and lunches were provided to all participants during the meeting days.

9. Social Event
The Programme hosted a cocktail party on Tuesday 28th Sept 2010 at 18h30 at the Beach Restaurant.
