Roberta Mendonca, from Brazil ...large prospecting enterprises returned some of the profits to the local communities and through environmental and awareness raising. | The winner and runners up were chosen by a panel consisting of UNEP’s Executive Director, its Director of Information, and the Editor of Our Planet from the entries received. The decision of the judges is final. This competition was closed to all those working for UNEP, Banson, Words and Publications, SMI, Marks & Spencer, WCMC, and all other companies associated with the production of Our Planet magazine and their families.
