Paint for the Planet partners
The Foundation for Global Peace and Environment is a Japan-based non-govermental organization that started the International Children's Painting Competition. Aside from this initiative, the FGPE is also UNEP's partner in the publication of children's environmental art books.
Bayer became UNEP's first private sector partner in environmental awareness initiatives with youth and children in 2004. The company provides support to UNEP's youth outreach programmes, including the International Children's Painting Competition and the children and youth conferences.
Nikon is another of UNEP's main partners in the annual International Children's Painting Competition, which has been held since 1990. The painting competition is a successful outreach initiative that promotes environmental awareness, values and action among children.
The Natural World Museum (NWM) is a mobile and global cultural institution that presents art through innovative programs to inspire and engage the public in environmental awareness and action
Paint for the Planet supporters
Under the Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign, people, communities, organizations, business and industry, civil society and governments are being encouraged to plant trees and enter their tree planting pledges on the Billion Tree Campaign web site. The objective is to plant 7 billion trees, one tree per person on Earth, by the end of 2009.
The Art and Environment Association, headed by artist Philippe Pastor, organizes artistic exhibits and events for creating broad public awareness of the need to preserve the environment and natural resources. The Monaco-based Association coordinates public awareness campaigns through artistic exhibits and raises funds to undertake field projects such as reforestation projects , as well as environmental education programmes for children. The Association has been supporting the Paint for the Planet initiative since its inception.
