The World Bank's Africa Transport Policy Program (SSATP) held the “Africa Transport Policy Forum” on 10-11 December, 2013 to discuss the growing challenges facing the transport sector in Africa. A wide range of issues directly relevant to the transport sector in the region, from governance to sustainable transport and road safety were deliberated. UNEP made two presentations, one on “Transport in the post-2015 Development Agenda” and the other on advancements by the region to improve vehicle fuel efficiency. Also discussed at the workshop was the Environmentally Sustainable Transport Forum, a collaboration of the SSATP and UNEP to promote an integrated approach to transport policies and planning that would link to other sectors such as health and the environment.
