INTRO POSTER

This poster series features the work of children from around the world who entered the 14th UNEP Children’s Painting Competition on the Environment.  Their pictures reflect a view of the world coloured by their hopes and fears for the global environment. 

This selection was inspired by the theme of the ninth Special Session of the UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum: ‘Energy and Environment; Chemicals Management; and Tourism and the Environment’.

The annual competition is organized by UNEP in collaboration with the Japan-based Foundation for Global Peace and German chemical and healthcare company, Bayer AG, the German chemical and healthcare company.

The global winners of the 2005 UNEP Children’s Painting Competition, on the theme of ‘Green Cities’, were announced at a special ceremony on World Environment Day ceremony held in San Francisco, USA.

The 2006 competition will feature paintings on deserts and desertification, the theme of World Environment Day 2006
