Prizes & Announcement of Winners

The following prizes will be awarded to winners of the regional and global competitions:

Global competition

First Prize:
One entrant – US$ 2,000 and a trip to the main World Environment Day event on 5 June 2006 in Algiers, Algeria

Second Prize:
Three entrants- Diploma and a plaque

Third Prize:
Ten entrants- Diploma

Fourth Prize:
Thirty entrants- Diploma

Fifth Prize:
One hundred entrants- Diploma

Regional Competition

First Prize:
Top winners from each region: US$ 1,000 and a trip to the main World Environment Day event on 5 June 2006. whose main celebrations will be held in Algiers, Algeria.


Supplementary prizes such as T-shirts, special drawing kits, environmental stationeries, etc. will be presented to the above winners according to prize.

General Terms

Winning paintings will be exhibited in the websites of UNEP and FGPE, and exhibitions are to be held throughout Japan as well as in the other countries. Also selected paintings will be used for posters, post cards, calendars, or in a picture booklet or environmental magazines to be distributed worldwide.

After the competition, all paintings submitted to the global competition will be stored in the National Museum of Ethnology in Osaka, Japan. After the competition the paintings will be accessible through the internet.

Copyright of all paintings submitted to the competition is to be assigned to the contest organisers. Paintings cannot be returned.
