Reaching one billion trees, one tree at a time - 20 + 10 initiative

Several schools in 10 different countries planted 20 trees during the week from 7 May to 11 May 2007. The native forest trees or fruit trees took root on the school grounds or in adjacent areas. This initiative was undertaken to commemorate World Biodiversity day, to be celebrated on 22 May. It is also a contribution to the Billion Tree Campaign.

The tree-planting activities were organized within the German Youth-Multimedia project Naturdetektve sponsored by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN)
