“EARTH - Healing the Rift.”

Bridging our Diversity by Celebrating our Similarities

Galman_foundationNairobi, Kenya - The Great Rift Valley Trust aims to creatively heal the division between cultures, people and nature, by bringing together exceptional artists from all continents and cultures to humanity's common cradle, the Great Rift Valley.

Here, the artists embark on a project which requires them to work collectively within their different talents towards a performance that transcends cultural barriers, whilst highlighting humanity's link with nature and our obligation to the environment for sustainable progress.

The venue is Ol Ari Nyiro, the Place of Springs, in Laikipia Nature Conservancy, a spectacular wildlife sanctuary and a biodiversity oasis stretching over 100,000 acres on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, made available by the author and conservationist, Kuki Gallmann, founder of the Great Rift   Valley Trust.

EARTHIn 2007, the Trust is advocating for decisive action on climate change in support of UNEP's Plant for the Planet: billion tree campaign.   Directed by Monica Maimone of Studio Festi, renown classical musicians from different continents, contemporary artists in different creative fields,  tribal people  and children will  come together in the Great Rift Valley for one week prior to the event, to produce and perform original fusion art  especially created on the theme: “EARTH - Healing the Rift.

In its quest to nurture cross-cultural and cross-generational inspiration based on the ancient elements of earth, water, air and fire, the Great Rift Valley Trust continues to promote and nurture timeless human values and respect for one another, Mother Earth, Mother Nature and Mother Africa.

The African mobile telecommunications group Celtel, is founded on a brand promise of Making life better and it is through this that they have offered their support for the Earth Project. Celtel will champion the SMS “text a tree” initiative that is linked with the UNEP Plant for the Planet the billion tree campaign. More>>
