Double delight for tree planters!
Can we plant one million trees in New Zealand this year?  Judging from the enthusiastic response from individuals, community groups, schools, councils and government agencies the answer is "Sure we can!"

The Billion Tree Campaign in New Zealand is delighted to have received not one million pledges but TWO MILLION pledges!  The first phase of the campaign to plant one million trees has been a resounding success.

But things are easier said than done and so the focus now turns to making sure that the trees pledged are carefully planted and properly maintained.  So far just under 550,000 trees have been recorded on our website as being planted - visit  www.tfsnz.org.nz

Project coordinator David English says thank you to those who've planted their trees - "you have given us a great start but we still have some way to go."
