President of Azerbaijan initiated the start of Campaign on planting 3 million trees in Baku |
|
According to the President's initiative, 3 million trees will be planted in Baku and its surroundings in one and a half years. He also emphasized the need to toughen existing legislation and gain discontinuance of felling down greeneries. Nevertheless,if there is a grounded necessity for removing trees, then for every felled tree 10 trees should be planted instead or as an alternative the tree has to be replanted according to relevant existing technologies. "Probably we will do historical job aimed at improving environmental balance and see its results in health of future generations." said the President. |

The President of Azerbaijan voiced this statement in a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan dedicated to the results of socio-economic development in the first quarter of 2009. |
