Global Forest Resources Assessment 2005 (FRA 2005)
Since 1946, FAO regularly monitors the world's forests through Global Forest Resources Assessments. The mandate to carry out these assessments stems both from the basic statutes of FAO and the Committee on Forestry (COFO).

  American Forests
American Forests works to protect, restore and enhance the natural capital of trees and forests. Healthy forests filter water, remove air pollution, sequester carbon, and provide homes for wildlife.   Baldwald - project (Germany)
The German „baldwald“ – project („baldwald“ means “soon wood”) is advertising, mediating and accompanying sponsorships for the planting of new woods. The project also reforest land in Germany and is the portal for all, who wants to support the lay out of new woods.

  Hike for Katreena
New Orleans lost over 50,000 trees due to Hurricane Katrina and planting 2,175 trees will be Monique Pilié's contribution to restoring New Orleans, her hometown. She embarked April 9 2006 on a 2,175-mile hike of the Appalachian Trail, and with sponsorships and donations made for each step she takes, Pilié will buy live oaks and other trees to replace those killed by Katrina.
