Integrating Biodiversity into Tourism - 12 Case Studies

The 12 case studies listed below were presented at the Integrating Biodiversity into Tourism thematic workshop, funded by the GEF (throughUNEP) and hosted by SECTUR and SEMARNAT, held in Mexico City, in February 2001.

Each case study investigates the extent to which biodiversity considerations have been incorporated (or not) into the tourism sector of a particular country or region. The case stdies thus provide important practical experience from which other biodiversity planners, facing the same challenges, can learn.

The case studies are listed alphabetically by author. Clicking on the links below (Full Case Study) or (Summary) will open up an Adobe Acrobat Reader file which can be read on-screen or printed.
