UNEP-BPSP THEMATIC STUDIES

INTRODUCTION

The Biodiversity Planning Support Programme (BPSP) is a Global Environment Facility (GEF) funded project, jointly implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The overall objective of BPSP is to provide support to national biodiversity planners, specifically in relation to Article 6 General Measures of the Convention on Biological Diversity. For more details of the full BPSP project, vist: http://www.undp.org/bpsp/

One of UNEP's main tasks within the overall BPSP project has been to generate information to assist national biodiversity planners with sectoral integration of National Biodiversity Strategy and Actions Plans (NBSAPs) into the broader national development framework.

In order to do this, UNEP has commissioned a series of thematic studies, each focussed on one aspect of sectoral integration.
