Delegates to UN Environment Assembly Gather in Lead Paint Event

UNEP guides countries to stamp out lead in paint

Three international expert workshops and meetings, took place from 11 to 15 April 2016 in Geneva, Switzerland: 

A workshop on the SDGs and chemicals and waste (11-13 April 2016) 

A meeting on the Global Chemicals Outlook (GCO) II (13-14 April 2016) 

A workshop on the IOMC toolbox (15 April 2016)



The Special Programme is calling developing countries and countries with economies in transition to submit projects proposals for funding between USD $50,000 to $250,000. The deadline for applications is 4 July 2016. Read more >>

Chemicals and Waste

UNEP is a primary driving force in the UN system for international activities related to the sound management of chemicals. The aim is to promote chemical safety and provide countries with access to information on toxic chemicals. UNEP promotes chemical safety by providing policy advice, technical guidance and capacity building to developing countries and those with economies in transition, including activities on chemicals related to the implementation of the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM).
