The Arctic plains are an eminent example of nature’s untouched beauty: an endless nothing in which only few know how to survive. However, the truth is different. The Arctic ecosystem is under a serious threat, dangerous pesticides are silently accumulating here, with serious health effects on its inhabitants being only one of them. The recent developments in the Arctic area are a disturbing symbol of the often hidden global consequences of pollution at the national and local level that calls for a new system on International Environmental Governance.
In the movie, a young Inuit woman investigates the sources of this pollution. Her journey takes her to three different continents, where she is confronted with conflicting interests when it comes to short-term gains and sustainable solutions for agriculture, industries and health care.
