Building the Climate Change Regime

On Friday, 9 December 2011, the Government of Ireland, UNEP and WRI held a side event on climate change regime designs. This event highlighted the recently released paper entitled Building the Climate Change Regime: Survey and Analysis of Approaches which reviews 130 proposals by Governments, NGOs, and academics on the design of the climate change regime. It shows that a number of options are available to scale up global climate action by mobilising various actors at the sub-national, national and international levels. The focus was on two particular issues: options to increase ambitions and the legal form of the climate agreement.
