SUSTAINABLE ENERGY IS ESSENTIAL TO MAKE THE 2°C LIMIT A GLOBAL REALITY
As Governments, Heads of State, business, finance and civil society leaders gather in New York for the Climate Summit, and building upon the conclusions of the fifth report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC),this exhibition wants to inform and educate on the key role of sustainable energy to keep temperature below 2°C—the warming threshold beyond which climate scientists tell us that damage to the Earth’s climate system becomes severe and permanent.
Through the collaboration with Magnum Photos, We Have The Power harnessed the talents of some of the best photographers in the world to capture the work being done by UNEP, UNFCCC, UN Habitat, Copenhagen Centre on Energy Efficiency (C2E2), CCAC and its partners to support the three objectives of the Sustainable Energy for All initiative: ensuring universal access to modern energy services; doubling the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency; doubling the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix.
