About

Phoenix Design Aid is a graphic design and communications agency. With more than 20 years of experience within the graphic industry CEO and Managing Director, Dennis Lundoe Nielsen is now the principal figure in this company. The agency has offices in Randers and Copenhagen, Denmark, and sales offices in New York, Dublin, Mumbai and Geneva.

With Phoenix Design Aid Dennis Lundoe Nielsen has established an agency with great expertise in graphic design and project management for international companies and organisations. Phoenix Design Aid is an effective partner in every design and graphic production task. They offer the whole package – from concept development, graphic design, translation, editing, proofreading and layout to new media production, printing and distribution. They are specialised in working with international and intergovernmental organisations, UN Agencies, NGOs and public authorities. They work globally, and their mission is to assist international partners in the graphic process.

Strategy

Phoenix Design Aid is founded on respect. Respect for their clients, their employees, and the outside world. Their management systems are certified with the Norwegian Veritas’ certificates as to quality (9001), environment (14001) and working environment (18001).

Phoenix Design Aid has defined the agency's own policies with regard to quality, environment and working environment; these are enforced internally as well as in the co-operation with their clients. Phoenix Design Aid has a caring attitude to nature and environment. They protect natural resources. Concern for the environment is a central value for and in the agency and environmental considerations determine some of their decisions. They only purchase paper, printing inks and printing varnishes that are environmentally sustainable. All of the planning and management of assignments is carried out with the greatest consideration for the environment and in line with the agency's ethical values. Through dialogue with customers, Phoenix Design Aid ensures that they expect and demand that they use environmentally friendly products and work processes.

Phoenix Design Aid does not work with customers or suppliers who do not value and protect people, animals and the environment. For Phoenix Design Aid, it has never been more important to minimise their CO2 emission. As a company, they put great focus on their social responsibilities, and they want to lead the way for a green and climate friendly world. Their latest initiative is to be a certified CO2 neutral company and thereby being able to offer even "greener" graphic production and communication services. Being a low carbon company is a very important aspect to their environmental positioning.

UN emission credits as a tool

Phoenix Design Aid carbon footprint has been calculated according to the principles of The Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol); and by purchasing UN issued emission credits, they neutralize their consumption. Their certification is in line with international standards, and UN procedures and is verified by the approved certification entity CO2focus. Please see Phoenix Design Aid certificate for more information on their CO2 Neutral certification.

In the environmental area, they:

  • have set goals for the environmental improvements they wish to achieve and they check that they reach them
  • will be up-to-date with the recent developments of improved technological solutions in their industry - continually carrying out environmental improvements
  • inform their customers of Phoenix Design Aid's environmental work and motivate them to choose products and services with less strain on the environment - preferably carrying an environmental label
  • communicate in an open manner about their environmental policy and goals

When pinpointing the important environmental influences in the graphical process, one considers the consumption of each raw material, and the environmental load related to its use and disposal. The most important environmental burden in graphical production are the use of paper, printing ink and printing varnishes. Phoenix Design Aid has developed an action plan to reduce the environmental threats in the graphical process.

They only collaborate with external suppliers and cooperatives with documented environmental policies. All employees at Phoenix Design Aid are concerned about the environment and act according to the company’s internal environmental policies:

  • They support the UN-led Seal the Deal campaign as signatory.
  • They participate in meetings for Caring for Climate signatories.
  • They have obtained membership of FSC Denmark to promote responsible forest management worldwide.
  • They give financial support to The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya.
  • They are foster parents for two baby elephants.
  • They have joined the Danish association of CO2 neutral websites
