Strategy

Our largest contribution to climate change initiatives is the collaboration with our customers. During 2006 to 2007, our customers reduced their climate impact by an average of 19 per cent. This was by maintaining a focus of climate issues and introducing concrete action programmes.

Lead by example: Respect’s own actions

Respect uses a high degree of telephone conferences, both externally and internally. Employees commute by public transport or bicycle. Respect does not have any company cars, and where necessary, employees use their own cars or taxis. When purchasing for the office, environmentally marked products are selected. Waste from the office is sorted and deposited for recycling with the property owner, and our suppliers are selected based on their climate and environmental commitment.

Carbon offsetting

We compensate for emissions that occur despite the implemented measures. We have selected a certified CDM-project in India that uses agricultural waste for electrical production. The project also contributes to sustainable development in the neighbourhood.

Planned actions to reduce emissions and act more environmentally friendly

•    Discuss with the landlord, Stadsmuren, in order to obtain renewable electricity window insulation, and a more even temperature.
•    Establish better procedures for handling travel reports.
•    Update, implement and follow up with implementing a travel policy, (see related documents).
•    Meet and develop a framework to avoid travel, including air travel.
•    State a preference for environmentally friendly clean vehicles when ordering taxis.
•    Verify that our courier company is still good from a climate change perspective.
•    Review the printers that we use.
•    Investigate whether the energy efficiency of our servers can be improved.
•    Adapt new environmental regulations on our premises and procedures regarding consumption, purchasing and waste.
•    Make environmentally friendly choices when choosing the food provided at conferences that we arrange.
•    Make more activities and events that Respect conducts climate neutral.
•    Require all employees to carry out private carbon dioxide profiles during the course of the year.
