About

SolarGren Media Ltd is Africa’s premier sustainability, communications organization dedicated to promoting environmental and sustainable issues on a global platform. SolarGren Media Ltd helps clients, including small and medium enterprises and non governmental organizations in Africa, to find their sustainability footing by modeling their "green stance" on the global business environment.

Our concept revolves around sustainability in the business environment. Our business model is designed to help companies in Africa go green. Yet, those that are already on the path towards sustainability can be made more inspired and successful.

We provide practical "green business information" to organizations, business executives, institutions, environmentalists and innovators. These are green entrepreneurs, owners and leaders who have taken actions to make their companies more sustainable - in a way that makes their businesses more successful.

Green Business Africa Summit & Expo

SolarGren Media Ltd is the Organizer of the annual Green Business Africa Summit & Expo, a unique melting pot event of green business, corporate citizenship, environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

The Green Business Africa Summit & Expo is Africa’s first flagship event that brings to the mainstream issues around sustainability in the business environment as well as green corporate social responsibility (CSR).

SolarGren Media Ltd is the parent company and publisher of GreenBusinessAfrica.com, a blog written by journalists, communicators, environmentalists, executives, businessmen, academics and experts in their fields who are interested in and well versed in the green business environment in Africa.

GreenBusinessAfrica.com espouses and reviews trends, policies, news, rants, products, applications, strategies and innovations that promote environmental sustainability and social responsibility with a purpose - to help Africa and the world embrace more environmentally conscious living and technologies that would ensure we leave an equitably endowed and clean world for future generations. It is a portal of everything green, including sustainable CSR and information on carbon markets and financing.

Strategy

We have designed our own telecommuting and virtual office concept where most staff work from home to reduce our transport footprint and only work from our hub office 50 per cent of the time. We have a company policy of encouraging staff to use public transport when coming to the office. We have a company policy of a paperless office where staff are discouraged from printing. If we must, we try to use recycled paper or plant based inks when available. We are organizing the Green Business Africa summit & Expo 2010, an event that we hope will be the first green meeting in the region. We will offset our carbon footprint during the planning and implementation stages and even encourage participants to do the same on their own.
