About eBUS is a bleeding edge and industry leading cloud computing software development firm for video content management and distribution companies in the media industry.
Throughout Asia, TV Commercials are currently physically delivered to Broadcasters using plastic polycarbonate video tapes. This method emits large quantities of Greenhouse gas emissions through the manufacturing and disposal of plastic and the use of numerous couriers, flights and train services to deliver these tapes around the world between parties.
eBUS has eliminated the need for traditional delivery methods and tape production. eBUSdelivery is a cloud based solution that digitally delivers TV Commercials to Broadcasters, Web and Mobile media using the Internet. The result: flexibility, faster delivery, safer delivery, higher quality delivery, saves money, manages all stock footage and estimated to reduce the impact on the environment by more than 95%.
In line with the interests of our employees, customers, partners, and shareholders, the sections below outline our position and long-term environmental, social and economic commitments: Strategy - To comply with, exceed where practicable, and contribute to when applicable, all relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
- To integrate sustainability considerations into all business decisions.
- To be a global leader in the area of business ethics and sustainable business operations, setting the environmental benchmark for comparable ICT companies.
- To ensure that all staff are trained sufficiently in our Sustainability program and are committed to implementing and improving it.
- To make clients and suppliers aware of our Sustainability Policy and encourage them to adopt sound sustainable management practices.
- To review and report sustainability issues on an on-going basis to ensure long term commitment to sustainable business practices.
In order to put these principles into practice we have engaged an environmental specialist to facilitate implementation of the following practical steps: Environmental- Environmental Reporting and Climate Strategy:
- eBUS has established and validated a Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Emissions Inventory in accordance with international best practice standards. This is an enabler for implementing a long-term carbon management and reduction strategy.
- eBUS has accounted for its unavoidable emissions through the purchase and retirement of VCS carbon offsets.
- eBUS has established a GHG Emissions Inventory for the product lifecycle of its core product; eBUSdelivery.
- Environmental Partnerships:
- eBUS is certified by the CarbonNeutral® company
- eBUS is part of the United Nations Climate Neutral Network (CN Net) and looking to partner with the World Resources Institute.
- ICT Carbon Footprint Calculation Guidance Document: eBUS is in contact with the World Resources Institute (WRI) with the intention of providing assistance in the development of a new initiative announced to help ICT industry measure its carbon footprint.
- Sustainable Supply Chain Management: eBUS is currently reviewing our supply chain (sub-traders and suppliers) with the intention of procuring “like-minded” sustainable suppliers in all manageable areas of our business.
- Video Conferencing: eBUS employs modern teleconference technologies including desktop videoconferencing.
- ICT: eBUS employs are informed and educated on modern Green IT power saving techniques and habits.
- Data Centres: eBUS use multi tenancy cloud based data centres. Multi tenancy cloud based solutions are estimated to be 70% more efficient than private clouds.
- Ground Travel: eBUS employees are encouraged to use public transport systems and walk for short distances when travelling to and from work.
- Waste Management: eBUS works to minimise, reuse or recycle as much office waste and consumables as possible. This includes paper, computer supplies and redundant equipment.
- Energy Consumption: eBUS works to reduce the energy consumption of its operations by purchasing energy efficient equipment and lighting.
