Off7 is a Portuguese company that helps individuals and businesses towards a low carbon economy, by measuring, reducing and offsetting their carbon footprint. Off7 team has expertise in environment, renewable energy, energy efficiency and management. Off7 service offer
A significant part of the services provided by off7 are free and are intended mainly to create awareness and promote the adoption of carbon emissions reduction measures. Off7 Projects® also evidence another important perspective of their business plan: the impact in society. Each initiative that they develop, must not only have a positive impact on the environment but must also bring benefits to the institutions and people involved.
Strategy
After an initial step of carbon emissions measurement, off7 implemented several reduction measures (recycling, minimizing employees commuting emissions by locating the office nearby a metro station, exclusive usage of efficient equipment), in order to decrease the initial emissions for the current 2,32 tCO2e. These unavoidable emissions can be split among:
- Office emissions: 0,99 tCO2e
- Travel: 0,34 tCO2e
- Commuting: 0,73 tCO2e
- Sponsorship projects: 0,26 tCO2e
In order to become a carbon neutral company, off7 compensated these remaining emissions via their projects, which provide high quality carbon credits, certified by the UNFCCC. For the coming year, off7 will maintain the same emission reductions policy, and will try to decrease their travelling emissions by using more efficient or hybrid vehicles.
