Measuring carbon emissions from air travel is a key step for people interested in climate-friendly living. Once travelers know their carbon footprint from air travel, they can make informed decisions about alternative transport routes and purchasing offsets. Amadeus, a technology and distribution services provider for the travel and tourism industry, is now supporting climate-friendly travel by enabling its clients to estimate their carbon footprints. Amadeus has recently partnered with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will provide Amadeus with data from ICAO's Carbon Emissions Calculator. The United Nations has selected ICAO's Carbon Emissions Calculator as the tool for use in determining the carbon footprint for UN-related travel. Read the article.
