Meetings to present the WCD report were organised by JBIC and Wetlands International in November 2000. Japan indicated an intention to conduct a review of WCD report as part of the OECD environmental guidelines reform process.
The DDP held constructive meetings with JBIC, JICA and Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in November 2002 to discuss their potential involvement with DDP activities including assistance for capacity building. JBIC is actively considering the WCD recommendations in connection with its portfolio of projects related to dams.
