About DELC
The Division of Environmental Law & Conventions (DELC) was established in 1999 at UNEP headquarters in Nairobi.
With the proliferation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements (MEAs) at the global and regional level, there is a growing need for a strategic approach to increase collaboration between MEAs.
DELC’s mission is to:
- Indentify and encourage substantive synergies between MEAs, such as the development of joint activities between MEAs;
- Increase collaboration between the various UNEP divisions and MEAs;
- Encourage the harmonization of information systems, information exchanges and access to information between MEAs;
- Encourage a coordinated approach to capacity building among MEAs.
