In Kenya, the Environmental Management and Coordination Act (2000) charges the following national institutions with the responsibility of achieving effective and efficient management of the environment in the State:
- i) The National Environment Council;
- ii) The National Environment Management Authority and Board;
- iii) The National Environment Action Plan Committee;
- iv) The Public Complaints Committee; and
- v) The National Environment Tribunal.
