Through the AEO-for-Youth process, African youth have joined hands and are channelling their efforts towards a better, greener tomorrow. More than 3,000 African youth submitted different contributions including; articles, poems, proverbs, case studies, photographs and paintings.

These contributions were reviewed and edited in six sub-regional workshops that were held in Mauritius , Ghana , Uganda , Durban , Egypt and Gabon . In attendance in these meetings were AEO-for-Youth editors, National Focal Points (NFPs), artists, Sub-Regional Officers and the Regional Officer. These sub-regional workshops were held in conjunction with UNEP's Collaborating Centres in Africa .
