Ecolex

ECOLEX is a comprehensive, internet-based information service on environmental law and policy (including natural resource management) operated jointly by UNEP, IUCN and FAO. ECOLEX combines the environmental law information holdings of the partner organizations including:

- multilateral and bilateral treaties
- national legislation
- European Union legal instruments
- judicial decisions
- soft law and other internationally non-binding policy instruments and technical guidance
- law and policy literature

DEWA and DPDL are represented on the ECOLEX Steering Committee, which meets about once a year. DEWA provides on the technical management of the system covering areas such as terminology, search functionality, database management and oversight, mapping applications, review of contractor services and technical expansion of the system. The information in ECOLEX is accessible via UNEP.Net.
