The information contained in the coastal and marine resources textbook of Kenya was compiled by national scientists, each providing data on their specific field of expertise. The book is available through this homepage or through a request to UNEP or the national counterpart.

The project's first textbook and maps on Kenya's Coastal resources have been printed (May 1998) and are readily available through UNEP or the collaborating agency in Kenya.

The book gives an overview of the aspects of the coastal environment in Kenya and includes various topics as: Climate, Hydrology, Agriculture, Population and Socioeconomics, Fisheries, Tourism, Conservation, etc.

The textbook is accompanied by a set of 5 resource maps at a scale of 1:250,000. The maps are abstracted from the digital database installed in the collaborating agency and indicate the spatial location of the coastal features described in the book.
