| About IEMP |
The International Ecosystem Management Partnership
(IEMP) is a joint venture of the United Nations Environment
Programme (UNEP) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
It is the first UNEP collaborative programme in the South and
for the South.

Ecosystem management is the vital approach of working with
nature for a world with a green economy.
|
|
To provide science, policy and capacity support to developing
countries to integrate ecosystem management approach into
their national policies and development plans to enhance the
delivery of ecosystem services for human well-being.
|
The core mandate of IEMP is to synthesise science findings
for decision-making on ecosystem management in all developing
countries, this is supported by three inter-related initiatives:
● Monitoring and Capacity Building
● Integrated Knowledge Management
● Science for Policy
The scope of IEMP’s work covers both terrestrial and marine
ecosystems.
The main clients of IEMP include national governments,
intergovernmental bodies and programmes, as well as
development agencies and the science community.
