• Overview

Delft Road Safety Courses is a cooperation between Delft University of Technology, SWOV Institute for Road Safety Research, Delft Post Graduate Education and Road Safety for All.

The courses aim to build the capacity of road safety professionals in low- and middle-income countries. The annual Road Safety Course in Delft is one of the core activities, alongside courses with a local focus that are given abroad as well as support for training and research programmes in low- and middle-income countries. FIA Foundation is supporting the Delft Road Safety Courses.

The courses are “evidence based and data driven” and take their conceptual framework from the Safe System Approach. Participants are trained to analyse road safety problems and how to come to effective and efficient solutions, making use of the growing stock of data and knowledge. This includes the development and implementation of road safety strategies adapted to local conditions.

Building on the success of previous courses, FIA Foundation and Delft University of Technology are joining forces to run a two-week road safety training course for middle- and low-income countries. It will take place from 17-28 September 2018, at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands.

The course is now open for registration and you can find more information on the programme, registration and scholarship opportunities at http://delftroadsafetycourses.org.
