Some 8 million items of marine litter are thought to enter the world’s oceans and seas every day.

It has been estimated that currently over 13,000 pieces of plastic litter are floating on every square kilometre of ocean.

It takes 450 years for a single plastic beverage bottle to degrade in the marine environment.

Cigarettes and tobacco
