I'd like to find out your thoughts on eco-friendly cosmetics. In particular the sourcing of raw materials to make these products. Many times the products are organic (no synthetic chemicals/little processing and alteration) however, the process of harvesting and the bottom producers and players in the value chain are not treated fairly (they do not receive fair wages, safe working environments etc etc) Does sustainability include just the product? Or the process to develop the product?

Dear Nkirote Koome,

Your question is very important, I did ask myself that very same question before starting my business. I really think that 'sustainability' should be the key to develop the whole production chain. It is not that easy, because of the demand, the actuel market, what consumers are expecting, and also what we should pay for the raw materials and then what price we should ask for that eco-friendly product, etc...

We should think about sustainability from the first idea of the business to the final product we'll put on the market. Every step is important. We need to work WITH Nature and find alternatives, be innovative to be successful in saying that we are doing eco-friendly products.
