Patrick Tiefenbacher
Patrick Tiefenbacher serves as the senior advisor on resource planning and results-based management, and UNEP is the fifth international organisation he works in. Earlier with UNDP, Patrick advised UN Country Teams on strategic planning and the design of country programmes as regional project management advisor for Africa based in Johannesburg, South Africa.

During three years at UNDP HQ he developed the concept of strategic cost management, was a team leader in the introduction of their Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and was a member of UNDP's Management Consulting Team. Patrick studied a combination of political science, chemistry and physics at the University of Vienna and also received a Master of International Affairs degree from Columbia University, New York.

Patricks key expertise is project management he is a certified PRINCE2 practitioner particularly in the context of UN inter-agency programming. He has trained and helped certify over 200 UN staff members in better project management practices, and co-authored the finance sections of the UN Guidance Note on Joint Programming.
