Catherine Vallee
Catherine Vallee has a Master's degree in Economics and a diploma from the ''Institut D etudes Politiques de Paris''.

She worked at the French Ministry of Industry and was in charge of financial and economic control of the French Electricity Utility until 1996. She was then a consultant with a major engineering firm and specialized in energy efficiency and renewable energy and carried out expert missions in a number of countries around the world until 2001. After 5 years as an independent consultant working on energy efficiency and renewable energy around the world, she headed the UNDP GEF Climate Change portfolio for Latin America and the Carribbean for four years.

She has served as Senior Programme Officer, heading the GEF climate change at UNEP, and now manages the global lighting initiative executed by DTIE.
