Janos Pasztor
Janos Pasztor is the recently appointed Director of the UN's Environment Management Group (EMG), whose secretariat is provided by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in Geneva.

During the last fourteen years prior to this, he held various positions within the secretariat of the
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Bonn, Germany, including most recently as Coordinator of the Project-based Mechanisms Programme, leading the team working on the Kyoto Protocol's market mechanisms.

Earlier, among other posts, he has also served at the UNCED secretariat preparing for the Rio Earth Summit, Energy Officer at UNEP and at the World Commission on Environment and Development (Brundtland Commission).

Janos received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He speaks English, French, Spanish, Hungarian and German.
