Joana Akrofi
Joana Akrofi joined UNEP in 2005 as an Associate Programme Officer in the Division of Early Warning and Assessment. She provides substantive technical support in the implementation of activities particularly in the areas of Marine and Integrated Water Assessments within the Water Assessment Programme of the Division.

She holds an M.Sc degree in Technology Management from the University of Hull, U.K and a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Natural Resource Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana. Joana has extensive national experience, working for 15 years with the Directorate of Fisheries, Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Ghana. She served as the Assistant Director in the Marine Management Division of the Ministry prior to joining UNEP.
