Abdul-Majeid Haddad
Abdul-Majeid Haddad is programme officer for climate change, coastal and marine environment in the Regional Office for West Asia, The Kingdom of Bahrain. He has broad experience in multi-scope technical assistance programme formulation, planning and management, especially at the country level.

He advises countries on policies, strategies and programmes to address climate change across the four cross-cutting dimensions of mitigation, adaptation, technology transfer and finance. He is particularly keen in helping countries of the region to take advantage of technological and financial support opportunities created within the context of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol. He thinks that West Asia countries have not been able to explore the full potential of the Clean Development Mechanism offered under the Kyoto Protocol. According to reports of the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), West Asia region will be highly impacted by climate change, therefore, special attention should be given to assessing impacts and vulnerabilities for designing adequate coping (adaptation) strategies and minimizing risks.
