Toshiko Ohga
Toshiko Ohga in short Toko is the Liaison Officer of the Secretariat for Governing Bodies. She works as the UNEP focal point of external relations, especially to ensure diplomatic and cooperative relations with permanent missions to UNEP, which include approximately 80 embassies represented in Nairobi. She also supports the work of the annual UNEP Governing Council/Global Ministerial Environment Forum, which meets in Nairobi or locations around the world, attended by ministers for the environment or high-level officials from nearly 150 UN member States.

Previously she worked at the ministry of environment of Japan and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as well as UNESCAP in Bangkok.
Toko is also the 1st Vice-President of the Nairobi Staff Union, representing staff of the Nairobi duty station.

She has resided in East Africa for over 16 years, and she believes that her work contributes to enhancing the visibility and credibility of Nairobi, the UN Headquarters in Africa, as a centre of international negotiations on the environment
