Iveta Cherneva
Iveta Cherneva leads UNEP Finance Initiative communications strategy and manages the UNEP FI's communications team. In exploring the boundaries of media interest in the topic of sustainable investment, Iveta's current focus lies with generating mainstream media interest in repsonsible investment and green finance stories. Currently Iveta works with reporters from Reuters, Bloomberg, The Guardian, The Telegraph and broadcast outlets such as CNBC, as well as more specialized publications such as Envrionmental Finance and Responsible Investor, in order to develop wider public interest in the environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in finance.

Iveta's previous experience includes positions at Oxford University Global Economic Governance Programme, the United Nations Press Office in Geneva, The Geneva Academy for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights, The International Peace Operations Association in Washington DC, and the United States Congress, working for Congressman Delahunt, Chairman of the International Organizations Subcommittee in the House of Representatives. Iveta holds a Master in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute in Geneva, and a BA in International Relations from University College Utrecht.

She has attended a political science program at the University of California, completed a certificate in US Foreign Policy at American Univesity in Washington DC, and previously attended Georgetown Law School as the 2007 William Donner Human Rights Fellow.

Iveta is the author of a number of publications on business and sustainability, including the co-authored book Beyond Market Forces . She speaks English, Bulgarian, Russian, German, Dutch, Swedish and some French. She comes from Bulgaria.
