Marianne Fernagut
Marianne Fernagut works on poverty and environment issues at UNEP/GRID-Arendal in Norway since 2004, developing communication tools and methods on environmental information as well as facilitation of development processes in Africa.

Her experience includes the nexus between poverty and natural resources, natural resource management, environmental impact assessment, and development strategies. She is editor in Chief for UNEP’s Poverty and Environment Times.

Marianne is a Bio-engineer with a Masters degree in Land and Forest Management and an MA in International Relations and Conflict Management – both from Catholic University Leuven, Belgium. Prior to joining GRID-Arendal, she worked as a policy officer and advisor to the government in Belgium.

UNEP/GRID-Arendal, an international foundation based in Norway, provides support and services to UNEP in the field of environmental information.
