Subrata Sinha
Dr. Subrata Sinha, UNEP Environmental Affairs Officer for Asia and the Pacific, is responsible for coordinating activities in South Asia, and is involved in programmes related to national sustainable development strategy, state of the environment reporting, environmental indicators and environmental mainstreaming in the region.

Prior to this post, he served as the Head (2003 to 2005) of the Assessment and Reporting Division of the Regional Resource Centre of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP RRC.AP) in Bangkok, Thailand. He also served as a focal person (2001 to 2002) at the Task Force Secretariat established by ADB, ESCAP, UNDP and UNEP for Asia and the Pacific preparatory process for the World Summit on Sustainable Development (WSSD), 2002.

He was previously a Fellow (1994 to 1998) at the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) in New Delhi, where he also served as Head (1998 to 2001) of TERIs Centre for Environmental Studies. He worked in TERI in the areas of carrying capacity and regional environmental management plan, including industrial air pollution management, environmental impact assessment, and natural resource accounting.

Subrata has 15 articles published in reputed journals and has contributed in publications of more than 20 documents at national and subregional level and regional levels.
