Djaheezah Subratty
Djaheezah Subratty works as Programme Officer on energy policy issues with the Energy Branch of UNEP&as Division of Technology, Industry and Economics since 2010. Her work currently focuses on energy and climate mitigation policies in the area of feed-in tariffs, energy efficiency, decentralized systems, mitigation readiness and the Sustainable Energy for All initiative. She favours multi-stakeholder engagement approaches.

She has close to twenty years of work experience in environment and sustainable development policy and planning, including the associated multilateral processes and extensive field experience. Prior to joining UNEP, Djaheezah worked for three years in environmental consulting in the private sector and for fifteen years in the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Mauritius. She holds special interest in Small Island Developing States and in Sub-Saharan Africa, and contributes her developing country experience to the Branch's work program.

She has a multidisciplinary background, with a Bsc in Chemistry and Environmental Studies, an Msc in International Trade and Economic Diplomacy and a post-graduate degree in Solid Waste Management. She is happy to interact in both English and French.
