Sophie Bonnard
Sophie Bonnard works in the Secretariat of the Climate and Clean Air Coalition to reduce Short-Lived Climate Pollutants (CCAC) - a major new initiative to help countries protect human health and the environment and slow the rate of climate change by reducing key short-lived climate pollutants such as methane, black carbon and HFCs (www.unep.org/ccac). Her current activities include supporting the coordination of the Coalition activities and the development of its first actions.
Prior to working in the CCAC Secretariat, Sophie was a member of UNEP's climate change coordination unit which is overseeing UNEP's climate change work programme covering adaptation, mitigation, REDD, outreach and science, as well as major partnerships such as those with other United Nations agencies. As such she was involved in the preparations and assessments of UNEP's inputs to the UNFCCC Climate Talks and supported the production of scientific reports including the UNEP Bridging the Emissions Gap report. Sophie has a Msc in Physics and in International Affairs with focus on environment, sustainable development and risks.
